....step away from the sculpey!

Over the last few weeks the pyglet whispers household has been madly getting ready for our trip to Canada. There is a wedding and both pyglets and hubby-j are in the wedding party. So we have had to buy suits, dresses, shoes, shirts, ribbons, tulle, ties....actually you name it and we have probably bought it. It has been expensive but fun!

I have also had to kit myself out. Being a SAHM on a tight budget has meant my wardrobe is full of mummy jeans and baggy t-shirts. I have not had a proper hair cut for almost 8 years (it is ridiculously long!) and facials and waxing are long overdue (I sound like hairy yeti with this descrpition!).

One of the things outstanding on my slowly receeding list is a piece of jewelry for myself that will "lift" my outfit for the wedding. I have been wanting a conversation starter (a pleasant conversation would be preferable), something large-ish and colourful. I have not been very successful in my search so far.

And so...

...a few days ago I decided I would see if I could do something myself.

I am pretty happy with these (I did two but still have to choose which one I prefer) but I have quite an insular perception and hubby-j has been non-committal with his response (I should be happy as he hasn't said... "put the tools down...and step away from the sculpey!!...crazy desperate woman!!")

...so tell me what you think as I am really hoping I don't get to the wedding and have someone say...

"Hmmmm! That is an...interesting piece that you have around your neck....did you make it??? (insert quizzical yet dangerously concerned look upon their face)

I would not be concerned at all, wear your work, they look gorgeous! I bet you will even end up with some orders for custom jewelry!

Tres cool, Miss Pyglet! I think I have a slight preference for the bottom one, but honestly, who could choose??
Just wear the necklace- you don't need anything else, you'll be the best dressed there!

Beautiful. Wedding-worthy and Etsy-shop-worthy, I'd say :)
