health "issues"

O.K. So I think I am back. Lets hope so anyway.

I have been struggling over the last couple of months in many ways and this blog here just had to go on hold. I have felt the need to remain quite silent as to why but I now feel a bit more secure in mentioning that I have had some "health issues" (pretty vague huh?)

I suppose it could be described as a "parasitic" condition that progresses into a more chronic stage of constant attention, management and control. The parasitic portion of the condition is accompanied by many varied and colourful symptoms that are supposed to stop after some weeks but from experience (as I have had a bout of this particular condition once before) those symptoms are just replaced by others up until the progression into the second stage of the condition. It is said that this second chronic stage lasts a good 18-20 years but if you asked some older sufferers of this condition (my mother, for example) they would claim it is lifelong.

It is quite a common condition for women between the ages of 18-40 (or there abouts) and in fact currently, the below bloggers seem to be in varying stages of newish cases of the same conditon.

gryphon's feather studio
loobylu
four sweetpeas
littlemunki
six and a half stitches
stitch'ounette
dog steals yarn
ervilha cor de rosa
and yarn harlot has just moved into the chronic phase of a double dose!
(see it is catching! - and those are only the ones I know about!)

Don't be alarmed!

It is just that I am not really the gushy, romantic woman I suppose I ought to be that I announce my much anticipated and personally very exciting Christmas baby to you in this way...

The nausea and digestive disturbances, severe lack of concentration (hence no blogging), and EXTREME coldness (only feeling warm when in a hot shower or in bed with 3 jumpers and thermals on - I am not kidding! -) have been my worst first trimester issues along with tiredness and apathy. Let's hope they have buggered off for good as it would be a massive understatement to say they have been REALLY annoying...

What exciting news, congratulations! So sorry it's been such a struggle these past few months (erghh I remember it all too well!). Glad you're feeling a bit better and are over the first hurdle.

You have me spooked about that lifelong 'second chronic stage'....my Mum says that too!

PS. Christmas/December babies are lovely :-)
