crochet is just like snowboarding...?

I have been so disoriented lately. I still do not know what is quite happening with the store. Yes, I am still there! The date actually is not finalised and deliberations are continuing with the contracts. It is exhausting! Needless to say I have not done a lot of crafting.

I have needed something to keep my mind off worrying about the sale. My choice to teach myself crochet, over knitting came from the same reason I chose snowbaording over skiing. (bet you didn't know there was a connection there?) One hook/stick/ski has got to be easier to control (or to at least minimise potential physical harm) than two.

My results are OK but...

  • I still have not attempted anything but straight lines of crochet
  • I still cannot change cotton colour ( I just bought a cotton that changes colour as you go, this did however cause problems when i obviously got the stitch count stuffed.)
  • forget about anything fancy!
I was inspired by the cute amigurumi at ohsewpretty and Ana over at Retrosaria dos Sonhos (I wonder how long it is going to take me to be able to make something like that!)
Never mind, at least it feels therapeutic at the moment!

EDIT: I see Lyn at Molly Chicken is trying out amigurumi too

Tonight I also gave mosaic maker a try to show you my baby beginner crochette and my needle felted patch I had to make to cover my boo-boos. I included some recent op. shop buys. (Mostly great material that activates my OCD tendancies so that I have to buy them even though I may never be able to use them)
